ONE Marriott Miami Helps Host Miami Beach Gay Pride Kick-Off Event

February 2, 2017

It was a festive evening under the stars as Miami Beach Gay Pride presented its fourth annual "Soiree by the Sea" on January 20, 2017 at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay. The VIP event raises money each year for growing Pride parade and festival for the LGBTQ community. Tickets were purchased for $50, and all proceeds from the evening go right back to the organization for their pride efforts.

The evening also included a special birthday celebration for the evening’s emcee, reporter Roxanne Vargas from NBC-6. Attendees were treated to complimentary Stoli and Herradura cocktails, Barefoot wines, delectable appetizers prepared by the Culinary Team of the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay, an exclusive raffle, performances by Miss Miami Beach Gay Pride - Kalah Mendoza, local celebrity appearances, and other entertainment. Spinning the tunes that filled the night’s sky was DJ Adora, decked in purple sequins from head to toe.

During the “Soirée By The Sea,” a check for $3,800 was presented to the Point Foundation, a charity helping LGBTQ students in Miami-Dade County pay tuition and other high learning expenses, thus assuring they have the academic and leadership support for post-graduation experiences.

The event was a collaborative effort with Celebrity Cruises, which is the presenting sponsor of the 2017 Miami Beach Gay Pride Festival. “It was truly a great evening. We were pleased to help bring this worthy event to one of our Marriott hotels to help support our local LGBTQ community and demonstrate how #LoveTravels at Marriott,” said Bertha Galindo-Crucet. Galindo-Crucet is the Destination Sales Executive at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay, Co-Chair of the South Florida Business Council's Spirit to Serve Committee, and ONE Marriott - Miami chapter communication director.
